About the artist: Anne Smith attends the Community Art Project in Darlington and has been producing drawings, paintings and prints for more than twenty years. Although she has tried various techniques and subjects, the main focus of her work has been portraits of women and girls, often imbued with emotion, sometimes appearing strong and defiant and sometimes fragile and vulnerable. In addition to numerous Community Art Project exhibitions, her work has been included in: Shape Open, Nunnery Gallery, London 2019; 'The Time is Now', Project Ability, Glasgow 2021; 'Under a Blue Sky', Phoenix Artspace, Brighton 2022; and 'Shelter', Outside In National Open, New Art Gallery Walsall and Sotheby's, London 2025 to 2026.
