Studio Oi is a new venture from the charity Outside In, which champions artists who encounter significant barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance, or isolation.

Studio Oi's online platform allows people to discover and collect original artworks from our curated collections by artists from across the UK.

Every purchase has a double impact. Our commission structure means proceeds go directly to the artist, and also support Outside In's ongoing programmes and projects, helping to remove barriers to the art world for others.

The artists featured on Studio Oi are part of the wider Outside In community: artists who face significant barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance, or isolation. Some of them work with supported studios around the country but many others develop their practice independently outside of the programmes and platforms offered through Outside In.

Supported studios are dedicated creative workspaces that provide materials, a creative community and tailored, professional support and mentorship for neurodivergent creatives, learning disabled artists or artists with complex needs. They play a vital role in supporting artists who might otherwise be excluded from the art world to develop their artistic practice.

Our first online exhibition is presented in partnership with Community Art Project (CAP) in Darlington, part of Darlington Borough Council's services for adults with learning disabilities, whose artists have exhibited nationally and internationally.

All works on paper are wrapped in archival tissue paper and securely boxed, or sent flat, depending on the piece.

Most postage and packaging are between £5 to £10, depending on the size of the work. Larger or framed items, and orders to non-UK addresses, are calculated individually. If you'd like a quote before you buy, please get in touch at studio.oi@outsidein.org.uk.

Yes. Through Own Art, you can spread the cost of your purchase over ten months, completely interest free, with no deposit necessary. It's a simple way to buy the art you love without paying the full amount upfront.

0% APR. There are consequences for missed payments, such as fixed late fees and an adverse impact on your credit file. Own Art is a Creative United initiative supported by Arts Council England, Arts Council of Wales, Creative Scotland, and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Credit is provided by Novuna Consumer Finance. Creative Sector Services CIC acts as a credit broker, not a lender.

Studio Oi is overseen by our Sales Manager, Millie Seal. Millie works part time so we're growing slowly with the hope of developing more opportunities for Outside In (OI) artists to get involved in selling their work as we grow.

We don't have capacity to respond to individual requests to sell artworks, but we will keep Outside In artists updated on any opportunities and our future plans for Studio Oi.
