Works on Paper

Studio Oi, (Studio Outside In) is thrilled to launch Works on Paper, a curated collection of unframed works on paper by eleven artists from The Community Art Project (CAP), Darlington.

CAP is a pioneering programme within Darlington Council’s services for adults with learning disabilities, supporting sustained and rigorous creative practice through artist-led mentorship, and enabling artists to build visibility, confidence and a public presence.

Outside In has collaborated with CAP for over a decade, providing support for their artists’ creative development and a platform to showcase and celebrate their work. We’re thrilled that we could partner with them to launch Works on Paper as Studio Oi’s inaugural online collection of artwork featuring: Anne Smith, Cheryl Cordier, Emma Watson, Jennifer Smith, Matthew Beadon, Michael Joyce, Paul Brace, Philip Knights, Siobhan Moore, Stephen Muszynski and Steven Hardy.

Works on Paper is an exploration of gesture, colour, rhythm and form on paper.  Revealing the diversity of aesthetic language from CAP, where the artists move fluidly between abstraction and figuration…
